Bill Belichick interviews for Atlanta Falcons head coaching role

Bill Belichick applies for Atlanta Falcons head coaching position

Bill Belichick is ready to get back to coaching after parting with the New England Patriots. He has interviewed for the vacant head coaching position with the Atlanta Falcons. Belichick left the Patriots after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl titles. The Falcons are looking to replace Arthur Smith, who was fired after three straight 7-10 seasons. Belichick has 333 victories, second all-time to Don Shula. The Falcons’ hiring process is being led by owner Arthur Blank and CEO Rich McKay, with input from general manager Terry Fontenot. Belichick’s potential hiring would require changes in the Falcons’ management structure, as he had control of personnel decisions in New England. The Falcons previously conducted virtual interviews with five candidates.
