New Spring Football League Created as XFL and USFL Announce Merger
The spring football leagues XFL and USFL have merged to create the United Football League (UFL), set to debut in 2024. The UFL will be led by former XFL president/CEO Russ Brandon and former USFL president of football operations Daryl Johnston. The inaugural game will feature the 2023 XFL and USFL champions. The UFL aims to provide opportunities for players to pursue their dreams of playing professional football. The league has secured partnerships with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Dany Garcia, Gerry Cardinale, ESPN, and FOX Sports. The games will be televised on Fox, FS1, ABC, and ESPN.
