David Njoku makes history with explosive first quarter performance against Jets in ‘Thursday Night Football’ finale
Joe Flacco and David Njoku connected on a historic level in Cleveland’s Week 17 matchup with the Jets. Njoku reeled in all four of his targets for 113 yards in the first quarter, setting a new record for the most receiving yards by a tight end in the first quarter. He finished the game with 134 yards on six catches. This was only the second time this season that Njoku went over 100 receiving yards in a game. While his first quarter performance was historic, he couldn’t get near the single-game tight end receiving record held by Shannon Sharpe.
