Steelers’ Kenny Pickett out vs. Bengals, Mason Rudolph gets the start

Kenny Pickett of the Steelers sidelined against Bengals; Mason Rudolph to start

Kenny Pickett is out for the Pittsburgh Steelers, so Mason Rudolph will start at quarterback against the Cincinnati Bengals. Head coach Mike Tomlin made the announcement on Thursday, with Mitchell Trubisky as the backup. Pickett, who had “TightRope” surgery on his right ankle, practiced on a limited basis all week but is still not ready to play. Rudolph, who played six snaps last week, will make his first start since 2021. Tomlin hopes Rudolph will create a spark for the struggling Steelers, who are just outside of the AFC playoff picture. The Bengals will be without top wideout Ja’Marr Chase, and the Steelers beat them earlier in the season.
