Patriots Release Seasoned Running Back
The New England Patriots have cut Ty Montgomery for the second time this year, exposing him to waivers. This move was made to make room for waiver claim Christian Elliss. Montgomery has been with the Patriots since 2022. Even though he has been part of the team’s special teams unit and served as the primary kick returner, he has had minimal contributions on offense this season. The Patriots may sign him back to the practice squad if he clears waivers. This move was made with Rhamondre Stevenson injured, leaving Ezekiel Elliott and JaMycal Hasty as the only healthy running backs on the Patriots’ 53-man roster.
