Former Panthers Pro Bowler reportedly interested in team’s head coaching job

Report: Former Pro Bowl Panther Player Interested in Team’s Head Coaching Position

The Carolina Panthers have fired head coach Frank Reich and may be considering former player Greg Olsen, who has expressed interest in the vacancy. Olsen, currently a color analyst for Fox, has no formal coaching experience except for coaching his son’s Pop Warner team. Although hiring Olsen would likely be criticized, it wouldn’t be unprecedented for an NFL team to hire a former player with no head coaching experience. If hired, Olsen would bring a unique perspective and knowledge of the game from his years as a player and broadcaster.
