Panthers Dismiss Head Coach Frank Reich Less Than a Year Into Job Amid Chaotic Season turmoil
The Carolina Panthers, the NFL’s worst-performing team this season, fired head coach Frank Reich after less than a year in charge. Panthers owner David Tepper announced the decision after the team’s 1-10 record following a loss to the Tennessee Titans. Special teams coordinator Chris Tabor will serve as the interim head coach. Reich was the third permanent head coach since Tepper bought the team in 2018, with two interim head coaches also serving. This decision comes after the firing of Matt Rhule last October in the third year of a fully guaranteed seven-year $62m contract. Tepper thanked Reich for his dedication and service and wished him well.
