Brees, a retired QB, now throws exclusively with his left hand
Drew Brees revealed that he is no longer able to throw a football with his right arm due to a major shoulder injury suffered in 2005. He discussed the injury during an appearance on ESPN Radio’s “Greeny” show and also mentioned that he had received interest from teams trying to lure him out of retirement. The retirement was primarily due to the injury that caused the degenerative shoulder and arthritic changes, and that he has not been able to throw with his right arm since. Despite this, Brees expressed that if he could, he would still be playing and credited Dr. James Andrews for helping him prolong his career.
