Colts owner Jim Irsay spoke about his 2014 DUI arrest on the HBO show “Real Sports,” claiming he was targeted because he was white and wealthy. After initially facing multiple charges, Irsay pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while impaired. He had various prescription drugs in his car and cash. The NFL fined him half a million dollars and suspended him for six games. Irsay said he had gone to rehab 15 times and almost died of an overdose, calling addiction “fatal.” He also mentioned his father’s rags-to-riches success and his own legal battle for ownership of the Colts.
