Source says Rams are signing veteran QB Wentz
Sarah Barshop is an ESPN staff writer covering the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams signed Carson Wentz as a backup to injured quarterback Matthew Stafford during their bye week. Stafford sustained a thumb injury and missed a game. Brett Rypien replaced him but was waived by the Rams. Wentz spent the 2022 season with the Washington Commanders and was released in February. He was previously with the Indianapolis Colts and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was traded from the Eagles after losing his starting job to Jalen Hurts. Wentz now has the opportunity to contribute to the Rams as a backup quarterback.
