McDaniels and Ziegler Fired as Raiders Struggle with a 3-5 Record
The Las Vegas Raiders have fired coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler, following a string of disappointing performances. The team’s owner, Mark Davis, thanked McDaniels and Ziegler for their hard work and wished them the best. Linebackers coach Antonio Pierce has been named interim head coach, while assistant general manager Champ Kelly will serve as interim GM. The Raiders will conduct a comprehensive search for a permanent head coach and general manager after the season. McDaniels and Ziegler were hired in 2022 but failed to lead the team to the playoffs, going a combined 9-16.
