Head Coach Josh McDaniels and GM David Ziegler Get Fired by the Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have fired head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager David Ziegler. Owner Mark Davis made the decision after much thought about the team’s future. Assistant general manager Champ Kelly will serve as the interim GM, while linebackers coach Antonio Pierce will be the interim head coach. McDaniels, who signed a six-year contract in January 2022, had a record of 9-16 over one and a half seasons with Las Vegas. This makes him the first non-interim coach to be fired by two franchises before the end of his second year in the Super Bowl era.
