“Minnesota Vikings’ Defensive Line Coach Goes on Personal Leave”

Minnesota Vikings defensive line coach Chris Rumph has been granted a personal leave of absence, according to coach Kevin O’Connell. Rumph is the second defensive position coach to take a leave this season, with outside linebackers/pass rush specialist Mike Smith also away from the team. O’Connell did not provide details about the coaches’ absences but confirmed they are personal. Assistant defensive line coach Pat Hill will take over most of Rumph’s duties, while assistant head coach Mike Pettine will assist with Smith’s duties. There is no timetable for either coach’s return.
