Seahawks Promote WR Cody Thompson from Practice Squad
Wide receiver Cody Thompson has been re-signed to the Seattle Seahawks’ active roster. Thompson was initially part of the 53-man roster but was cut after three weeks. He then joined the practice squad and was temporary called up twice. The team did not have to make any corresponding moves as Thompson’s return coincided with defensive back Coby Bryant being put on injured reserve. Thompson played five games with the Seahawks last season and has primarily seen playing time on special teams. He made his first regular season catch a couple of weeks ago against the Giants. Additionally, the team made three practice squad moves involving the signing of wide receiver Cody White and tackle Greg Eiland, as well as the release of quarterback Holton Ahlers.
