Legendary Cowboy Walt Garrison Passes Away at the Age of 79
Walt Garrison, a former running back for the Dallas Cowboys in the 1960s and ’70s, has passed away at the age of 79. Garrison was known not only for his football career but also for his rodeo background, which made him a cult hero in Texas. Despite not having flashy statistics, Garrison’s heart and toughness made him a beloved player on the Cowboys. He played in 119 regular-season games and 13 playoff games for the team and still ranks ninth in career rushing yards for the club. Garrison’s football career was cut short due to a knee injury he sustained at a college rodeo, but he had no regrets.
