NFL appeal in Gruden lawsuit gets hearing date

Hearing Date Set for NFL’s Appeal in Gruden Lawsuit

The Nevada Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments for November 7th regarding the NFL’s appeal to move former Las Vegas Raiders coach, Jon Gruden’s, lawsuit against the league into closed-door arbitration. Gruden filed the lawsuit in November 2021, accusing the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell of leaking racist, sexist, and anti-gay emails, leading to his resignation. The NFL wants the court to reverse the judge’s decision to not dismiss the lawsuit and to order out-of-court talks overseen by Goodell. Gruden is seeking monetary damages, claiming that the leaked emails destroyed his career and endorsement contracts.
