Schmitz and Bellinger of the Giants sustain injuries during ‘tush push’ incident
In a 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the New York Giants not only failed to convert on a fourth-down rushing attempt called the “tush push,” but they also lost two players to injury. Rookie center John Michael Schmitz suffered a shoulder injury, and tight end Daniel Bellinger sustained a knee injury. The severity of their injuries will be determined after further tests. Coach Brian Daboll admitted that the Giants hadn’t practiced the play live recently and credited Seattle’s defense for stopping it. The loss marked another frustrating game for the Giants, who have yet to score a touchdown in their home games this season. Quarterback Daniel Jones took responsibility for his poor performance, which included a fumble and two interceptions.
