Sources: Kyler won’t come off PUP when eligible

Sources indicate that Kyler will remain on the PUP list despite being eligible to return.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is not expected to come off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Monday and is still weeks away from playing, according to league sources. Murray tore his right ACL in December and has been slowly ramping up his comeback. The rules surrounding activation from the PUP list suggest that it will be late October at the earliest before Murray returns to action. Despite this, Murray wants to return this season and likes the direction of the team and the offense. Joshua Dobbs has been starting in Murray’s absence but would likely be replaced when Murray is ready to play.
