Injury Forces Vanderbilt Football Safety De’Rickey Wright to Exit Game Against Alabama A&M
Vanderbilt football player De’Rickey Wright left the game against Alabama A&M with an apparent injury. Wright went down after making a stop and limped off the field. He returned to the sideline without a helmet during a subsequent offensive drive. Marlen Sewell replaced Wright at safety. Wright’s status was unknown as of the end of the first quarter. Vanderbilt led 5-3 at the end of the quarter. The team was already missing several linemen due to injury. Wright had two interceptions in the previous week’s game against Hawaii.
