Former St. Louis Cardinals coach used a secret phone to contact suspended GM
Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks has admitted to using a burner phone provided by the team to communicate with ex-general manager Steve Keim during Keim’s suspension for drunk driving in 2018. The team has stated that they are not able to share the details of what transpired due to a confidentiality order. According to Wilks, he was directed by Keim and team owner Michael Bidwill to use the burner phone to stay in touch with Keim. The testimony was obtained as part of an ongoing arbitration case involving discrimination and racist behavior allegations against Bidwill. The Cardinals have also recently settled a tampering case involving the Philadelphia Eagles.
