Projected Starting QB Released, Kyler Murray to Start Season on PUP List, Cardinals Announce
The Arizona Cardinals have released quarterback Colt McCoy, despite him being expected to be the Week 1 starter. McCoy, who has been the backup to Kyler Murray for the past two seasons, was let go after the team acquired Josh Dobbs in a trade. McCoy has mainly been a backup throughout his 12-year NFL career, but has made 56 career starts. In 2022, he completed 68.2% of his passes for one touchdown and three interceptions in four appearances. With Murray set to miss at least the first four games of the season, Arizona’s quarterback situation remains uncertain.
