Patriots Secure Browns OT Wheatley in Exchange for RB Strong
The New England Patriots have acquired offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr. from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for running back Pierre Strong Jr. Wheatley, the son of former NFL running back Tyrone Wheatley, addresses the Patriots’ need for offensive line depth. The Browns, on the other hand, were looking for a third running back to complement Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford. The trade is still pending physicals, and teams must trim their rosters to 53 players by Tuesday’s deadline. Wheatley had been injured during a fight at Browns training camp, while Strong had missed time with a concussion.
