The Browns teased a potential change in attire on Monday and it didn’t take long for them to reveal the new helmets the team will wear in 2023.
On Tuesday, Cleveland announced it will wear new white alternate helmets with white throwback jerseys three times this season in a “White Out Series.”
The debut of the new look will come in Week 2 vs. the Steelers on Monday Night Football. Then the team will wear them in Week 6 vs. the 49ers and Week 17 vs. the Jets on “Thursday Night Football.”
The Browns certainly have an important season ahead and the three matchups they chose could be strategic as all three teams seem primed to be contenders in 2023. Fans will certainly be ready for Cleveland’s version of a whiteout.
They do say, “Look good, feel good. Feel good, play good.” If the team embodies that, it may be enough to leave the stadium with an extra win or two in 2023. That could be all the difference in a competitive AFC North.
Cleveland is paying homage to those who came before them. In its release video, it looks back to the 1950 team when the Browns first entered the NFL. The team had an underdog mentality, and it seems Clevelands’ 2023 squad will have the same.
The video ends by saying, “Old attitudes reborn. Old threads reimagined. Some traditions are destined to return, and that time is now.”
