Being the first overall pick in the NFL draft comes with very high expectations that can sometimes border on the line of impossible. Now, on top of that, imagine the team selecting you gave up two first-round picks, two second-round picks and an emerging star at the wide receiver position in DJ Moore. The weight of the world could seemingly be on Bryce Young’s shoulders, but you would never know it based on his ice-cold demeanor. He is just here to play ball.
For the Carolina Panthers to have sacrificed all of those assets to go out and get Young, it is clear they did their due diligence. Panthers head coach, Frank Reich, had reportedly been one of the biggest advocates for Young throughout the draft process and has always seen something special in him. Reich played quarterback in the NFL for 14 years himself and knows a thing or two about the position. Reich has worked with some of the best players to ever play the position in Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers and Andrew Luck so for him to pursue Young this way speaks volumes.

This is what I got from watching Peyton Manning. Number one is the quarterback should be the toughest guy on the team. Mentally and physically. A relentless mindset of nothing is going to stop me. So, toughness it’s a confidence that is palpable and the whole team feels it.”
