While 27 is young in most lines of work, it’s old for an NFL running back. Teams are constantly looking for younger, cheaper alternatives at the position, regardless of one’s résumé.
As a rookie in 2017, Kareem Hunt — who turns 28 on Aug. 6 — led the NFL in rushing with 1,327 yards. More recently, he demonstrated his dual-threat abilities, compiling 2,847 yards from scrimmage during a 49-game stretch with the Cleveland Browns as Nick Chubb’s backup.
Yet, nearly one month until training camps begin, Hunt remains unemployed. The former Pro Bowler, however, doesn’t sound concerned.
Speaking with reporters at his football camp recently, Hunt said he’s “just being patient” while he focuses on his training and enjoying time with his family.
“I’m not frustrated at all. It’s going to work itself out,” he said.
