Omar Khan suggests Steelers may still pursue long-term deal with Najee Harris
Steelers General Manager Omar Khan decided not to pick up running back Najee Harris’s fifth-year option on his rookie contract, but that doesn’t mean Harris won’t have a future in Pittsburgh. Khan mentioned the possibility of Harris signing a contract extension and staying with the team long term. Despite the business decision, Khan expressed his admiration for Harris as a player and a person. He reassured Harris that not picking up the option doesn’t prevent them from working together in the future. While some teams are hesitant to offer big contracts to running backs, Harris may still find a home with the Steelers.
